Just in time for the summer solstice, Southern Shores have crafted Atlantic
an EP of pure bliss and wanderlust that gravitates towards tropical coastlines
and losing yourself in idyllic places.
These 6 summer anthems are for headphones and dancefloors alike. 'Night Is
Young' pulses with scenes from the best night of your life - beach parties,
sea foam, dancing through the night, watching the sun go down and up again -
until suddenly it's not the farenheit or the far away that matters, but just being
right where you are.
Beneath the joyful, gauzy surface of Atlantic is truly an album of songs with
simple but resonant melodies. Ethereal vocals wash over marimbas and steel
drums on 'Meridian, and elsewhere 'Take Me Anywhere reverberates with
alluring exoticism, its "I'm thinking about where I want to go" underscored
by lush, sweltering synths and the hum of jet engines.
For all of Atlantic's exotic locales, it's less about anywhere specific and more
of a prayer that there's still beautiful places left to explore out there, that
there's still adventures to be had, amazing things left to see and amazing
people left to meet. A world of pleasure just waiting to be discovered by
simply looking out across the ocean, wondering what's on the other side,
and when you can get there.
