Echoey, atmospheric and synth-driven pop noir, the 10 tracks on Delusions pull in their influences from late 70s post punk, 80s New Romantic pop and italo-disco, giving new life to beloved pop genres from the past with simple orchestration and vintage production.
First single 'Can't Make Up My Mind' takes its cues from songs of our young past, the songs that filled radio waves in the summer months. It's familiar in its bouncy new wave stylings, but mysterious in Maria Usbeck's disenchanted words and disconnected delivery.
Selebrities are Maria Usbeck, Jer Robert Paulin and Max Petersen from Brooklyn. 'Delusions' captures perfectly the mood and sound of New York City: full of the imaginative brooding, but also an undeniable optimism.
